Who am I?

LauraSubway-1First and foremost I’m a busy mom to three amazing kids, married to a great and supportive guy and we live in crazy New York City! I’m passionate about health and fitness and I believe it is vital that we all learn to find and trust our inner voice. I believe we don’t have to stay stuck where we are, in pain, fear and doubt. I’m always working and searching to find ways to inspire and motivate my clients and followers. I’m a certified personal and group fitness instructor, a Holistic health coach and a published lifestyle writer. My own journey of weight loss brought me into this field over 15 years ago and I’ve never looked back! My passion for helping others one-on-one and my growing relationship with online communities lead me to launch my own business 5 years ago, Laura McDonald Health.

I also love writing rock songs, working on new lifestyle ideas, practicing my yoga skills, hiking with my dog, long walks on the beach and creating healthy recipes for my family, friends, clients and followers.

Being a Health & Lifestyle Entrepreneur can be crazy at times… But I wouldn’t have it any other way. THIS is what motivates me and makes my life meaningful.

What makes me love being a health, fitness and lifestyle guru?

I’ve always been drawn to fitness and health but after the birth of my third child (and gaining over 75 pounds with each pregnancy)! I joined a local gym, lost the weight and fell in love with the excitement and energy of group and personal training. I became ACE and AAFA certified, and also trained in kickboxing, yoga-fit and mat pilates. I really wanted to infuse optimal nutrition into my own, as well as my clients diets, so I took a year to study at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I then focused on widening on a more global scale and through social media and my published lifestyle articles I am now reaching and inspiring 1,000’s of people all over the world. Reaching a world-wide audience was just a dream a few years ago, but now it’s part of my everyday business! My business is designed to give you everything you need to succeed.

My journey hasn’t always been easy, I’ve paid some serious dues (showing up over and over again for 5 am appointments to train someone, standing outside in the freezing cold dark streets only to have them tell me things like: “they forgot we had an appointment” or “I have a headache, can we do this another time?” Picture me heading back home, dejected and feeling rejected and wondering what is the point of all of this? But I persevered, honed my business skills, started listening to my intuition and went on to succeeded in creating a successful, results orientated business. I am proud to say I am still training my very first client!

I want to share with you all of my professional and personal experience. I can help you succeed and along the way learn about yourself, boost your confidence and regain that youthful energy that is just waiting to come out and play with you again.
